Comeback After Injury: Why Tomorrow Is More Than Just a Race

Tomorrow, I’m doing something I wasn't sure I’d be doing for a long time. I’m lining up for my first half marathon post-injury.
It’s been a long, humbling road of rehab and watching from the sidelines. There were days of frustration, days I felt like I was starting from zero, and days I had to remind myself to trust the process.

My goal for tomorrow isn’t a Personal Record (PR). It’s to finish feeling strong and healthy.

Returning to running isn't just about physical capacity; it's a mental game of overcoming fear and managing expectations. I've learned that consistency matters more than speed. If I feel pain, I’ll walk. If I feel good, I’ll run.

My only mission is to reach the finish line, celebrate the work I put in to get back here, and fall in love with the sport all over again.

To anyone else dealing with an injury or a setback—keep showing up. Every step forward counts, no matter how small.
